Teen winched from quarry at Salamander Bay, following three metre fall

A teenager has suffered multiple injuries after falling into a quarry at Salamander Bay late Tuesday afternoon.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called in to assist NSW Ambulance Paramedics, who were already on the scene, winching the boy out who had fallen three metres.

He was stabilised by ground crews before being airlifted to the John Hunter Hospital, in stable condition with pelvic and ankle fractures.
