The University of Newcastle has confirmed two students have been diagnosed with COVID-19.
NSW Health advised the university on Saturday morning that the students, who live on campus at Callaghan, have tested positive to the virus.
The pair have since been transferred into care.
Several close contacts of the cases have been identified and moved into isolation following a COVID test.
