Port Stephens Hunter Police are trying to identify a man over the investigation of an incident involving a child at Thornton.
They believe the man can help inquiries regarding a child being approached last Friday.
Anyone with information that may help identify the man is asked to contact Maitland Police Station or Crime Stoppers.
