A Hunter man has been charged with 21 child abuse offences.
Police started investigating the man back in September when he allegedly began engaging in sexually explicit conversations with them online, believing he was speaking to a 14-year-old girl and the mother of a nine-year-old girl.
Officers arrested the 34-year-old man at a home yesterday morning.
He was taken to Muswellbrook Police Station where he was charged with 19 counts of using a carriage service to transmit/publish/promote child abuse, using a carriage service to groom a child under 16 years for sex and possession of child abuse material.
He’s been refused bail and will front Newcastle Local Court today.
