A woman’s been charged after allegedly spitting on a security guard at a Raymond Terrace supermarket last night.
It’s understood the 41-year-old woman was shopping at Terrace Central Shopping Centre around 9pm as it was closing, the security guard asked her to make her way to the registers.
She allegedly refused to leave, the guard asked her once again but the woman allegedly spat in his face and hit him with her bag.
The woman was escorted from the store by other employees before the incident was reported to police.
Officers reviewed CCTV and spoke to witnesses, they tracked the woman down to a nearby home.
She was taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station and charged with common assault and offensive behaviour.
The woman has been granted conditional bail and will front court in July.
