A Lake Macquarie woman is facing multiple charges, after she allegedly spat on a police officer at Teralba yesterday.
Police stopped a car on Anzac Parade at about 8am and tried to give the driver a breath test, but he refused.
The 20-year-old female passenger then got out of the car and became verbally abusive, before she allegedly struck an officer in the chest and spat on him.
Back-up was called in and the driver later tested positive for cannabis.
He was arrested and taken to Toronto Police Station.
While this morning, the woman was issued a court attendance notice for August 4.
She’s facing multiple counts of assault, and offensive behaviour.
Police say there was also a 1-year-old child in the car at the time of the incident, and a child-at-risk notification has been submitted to FACS.
