A man’s been charged following a fatal crash at Kotara yesterday.
It’s alleged a Nissan Navara was travelling east on Park Avenue just after 9:30am, when it failed to negotiate a bend and collided head-on with a Toyota Camry.
A 58-year-old woman was trapped in the Toyota for a short time before being taken to the John Hunter Hospital where she later died.
The 27-year-old behind the wheel of the Nissan was taken to the John Hunter for treatment of minor injuries and to undergo mandatory testing.
He’s now been charged with multiple offences.
The man was refused bail and will front Newcastle Local Court today.
