A man’s been charged following an alleged aggravated break and enter at Raymond Terrace yesterday.
A group of three people reportedly entered the room of a motel near the intersection of Port Stephens and William Streets around 12:30am, one of them was armed with a piece of wood.
They demanded a keycard and cash from a 23-year-old occupant and assaulted him before they allegedly assaulted two more occupants of another room.
Police were called to the scene shortly afterwards, they spotted a blue Mitsubishi Magna in the carpark of a nearby supermarket.
Officers gave chase but had to terminate the pursuit for safety reasons.
Following investigations, police arrested an 18-year-old man at a home on Cambridge Street around 7:30am.
The man’s now facing a raft of charges and will front Raymond Terrace Local Court in June.
