A woman from Redhead is among the first people fined under the new Coronavirus Public Health Order.
The 65-year-old was forced into quarantine following her return from Bali last weekend however police received reports of her breaching the rules.
Officers warned her on Monday but she allegedly breached the self-isolation policy again yesterday morning.
Police handed her a $1000 fine yesterday afternoon.
Police Minister, David Elliott says this is a timely reminder that they will catch people breaking these critical rules.
“No one is above the law”.
“This behaviour is not only reckless and stupid, but potentially deadly,” Minister Elliott says.
