A man’s set to front court next month, after he was allegedly caught drink driving at Muswellbrook yesterday.
Just after 4pm, police noticed a Holden Commodore stopped in the middle of the road on the Pacific Way.
When they approached the car, the driver sped off but he allegedly stopped a short time later on Tobruk Avenue.
The 42-year-old was asked to take a breath test, but police say he claimed he had Covid-19 and coughed at the officer.
His breath test reading was allegedly 0.274 which is 5 times over the legal limit.
The man was granted conditional bail and will front court on April 6.
