Richard & Kim spoke with president of the Newcastle law society, Gary Fox, following the supreme court’s decision yesterday to quash the conviction of former NSW Labor minister Ian Macdonald. He was found guilty and sentenced over misconduct by issuing the Doyle’s creek mine licence in the Hunter Valley .
Mr Macdonald and former union boss John Maitland were set free on bail yesterday and will now face a retrial having won their appeal. Their matters will next be in court on Friday.
