Four people have been arrested following an alleged pursuit through Adamstown overnight.
Police pursued the white Holden for about three minutes around 12:30am, before it stopped on Westwood Avenue and three passengers allegedly fled on foot.
The men were eventually tracked down and arrested with the help of the dog squad, found in nearby bushland on the Fernleigh Track.
A 20-year-old was released without charge, a 34-year-old was charged on an outstanding warrant while an 18-year-old was charged in relation to a stolen credit card.
The 27-year-old female driver was also charged with driving offences.
All three charged will now front Newcastle Local Court.
